After exercise in the heat, fresh young coconut water restored hydration as well as a sports drink and was easier to drink in volume, with less nausea and fullness 1. In trained men it matched a sports drink for hydration and performance 2. During exercise itself, one trial found it no better than plain water 3.

Miami's elite coco plug.
If you're here, you got invited.
Real fresh is rare.
Small harvests. A short list. Members first.
The best young coconuts don't arrive on a schedule. They come in small, uneven harvests through the year, and the moment one is cut, the clock starts. Shelf coconut water solves that with heat and months of storage. We solve it by keeping the list short.
Every coconut is cut less than 24 hours before we pour, kept whole and cold, and tasted before it goes in your jar. That only works for a limited number of people, so Source Coco is membership only: the people on the list get first call on every harvest.
- Cut todayPalm Beach to Homestead
- Whole and coldNothing opened early
- Tasted, every onePerfect or not poured
- Cracked on siteIn front of you
- Poured into glass64 oz, steel lid
The van collects coconuts cut that morning from palms between West Palm Beach and Homestead. They ride whole and chilled, so the water stays sealed in its own shell. Before any coconut goes in your jar we taste it; if it isn't perfect, it isn't poured. Then we crack it in front of you and pour it into a 64 oz wide-mouth glass jar with a steel lid. No plastic, nothing added, nothing heated.

What the research actually says.
We only list benefits backed by peer-reviewed studies or major health bodies, with the source for each. Small studies are called early evidence. Coconut water is food, not medicine.
Potassium is one of the nutrients the US Dietary Guidelines flag as under-consumed by most Americans 5. One cup of fresh coconut water carries about 600 mg 4.
The American Heart Association recommends potassium-rich foods to help manage blood pressure, because potassium helps the body offset sodium 6. A small 2005 trial in people with high blood pressure saw systolic pressure fall in most of those drinking coconut water: promising, but early evidence 7.
The World Health Organization's diarrhoea manual for physicians lists green coconut water among the home fluids suitable for preventing dehydration 8, and children with mild gastroenteritis accepted it well as a home fluid 9. For moderate or severe dehydration, oral rehydration salts come first.
About 6 g of sugar per cup, all from the coconut. Leading sports drinks add 13 to 15 g in the same 8 oz, and the Dietary Guidelines advise limiting added sugars 5.
Bottled water averages about 240,000 plastic particles per liter 10. We pour into glass and close it with steel.

Kidney disease, or on medicines that raise potassium? Ask your doctor first.
That includes ACE inhibitors, ARBs and spironolactone. Very large amounts of coconut water have caused dangerous potassium levels in case reports 11. This is not medical advice.
